Advert Description

Here's my super Epiphone Joe Pass archtop jazz guitar serial number S6044532 built in the brilliant Samick Plant, Korea in April 1996 - so I reckon you can now call it "vintage". It's in excellent condition no buckle marks on the back, etc.. I'm only selling it to make space as I have other guitars and can only play one at a time! You may look at the price and say you can get a new one for a little more which is true but mine is better than new! Why buy new when you can have one which has matured and mellowed and has more character? The maple back is still the original colour whereas the spruce top is now a rich golden colour. The Epiphone badge originally painted on the pickguard has virtually disappeared over the years but is still preferable to the cheap plastic stick on badge they fit these days. The neck pickup has been changed for a Kent Armstrong P-90, however the original humbucker is included. The tone and volume control knobs have been changed to chicken head knobs - as did Barney Kessel. You can feel where you are and not look at numbers! The original knobs are available if wanted. I've also had a master volume control fitted - all guitars should have them! So much easier balancing your sound. All these improvements were carried out by the master Lincolnshire luthier John Le Voi. So there you are - the guitar has matured and plays beautifully - fitted with D'Addario EJ21 Jazz Light Gauge 12/52. Collection from Butterwick, Boston.
I would just mention that there is a small indentation in the pearl inlay at the nut which does not affect the playing and which has been there ever since I have owned the guitar. I have adjusted the asking price accordingly.
Please note I have advertised this item on other websites and may remove it from this site if sold elsewhere.
