Vintage British Army Officers No 1 Dress Jacket Tunic (Blues) REME
Old British No1 Dress (Blues) Officers Jacket/Tunic. Such jackets have not changed that much over the years, but this example dates to the 24th March 1964 as per the tailor’s original label.
The jacket is not in immaculate condition, with minor wear around the collar, some pulled stitching at the back, and a split at the cuff, all of which can be rectified.
It is a good quality piece, made by Burton tailors, and would make an excellent mannequin display, theatrical costume, fancy dress outfit or retro jacket for everyday use.
There is a full complement of buttons at the front. The top button appears to be Royal Artillery and the rest R.E.M.E.. The hook and eye attachments that close the rounded collar are still in situ, as are the red embroidered epaulettes.
The jacket is a good, large size.
