I am reluctantly selling my 3.5 tonne Renault master Horsebox.
It’s an N reg and had got plenty of mileage on the clock but is worth it’s weight in gold because of its design and internal size. 167,000 miles on the clock. This Horsebox is excellent for carrying larger horses, something unusual in a box of this size. It has a low wheel base which reduces the ‘tilt and roll’ when going round corners in higher boxes. The height of the box is 7foot 8” and carries my 17.2 chunky Irish mare with ease. This is why I am reluctant to sell but a new house and new car (alongside a distinct lack of use) means that I simply can not justify keeping it any longer. It can be driven by anyone unlike a trailer or 7.5 tonne lorry which needs an additional driving test. There is basic living facilities but these have been pared down to provide a large area for horses.
It took me 2 years to find this box because of the need for head height. It failed its MOT this July on a tyre and a bulb and has advisories (like any box of this age). I have had it serviced every year (I have owned it for 5 years). I have now replaced the bulb and added 2 new front tyres.
Even the tax isn’t that expensive £240 for the year.
Yes it needs some work, yes it’s not pretty but it does the job and is of a sort very hard to find. More photos will follow when I can get rid of the furniture inside.
In the meantime, please message me if interested. Serious enquiries only. £4000
