Table and 2 matching chairs with attractive Victorian Rose pattern.
Not sure how old it is -- probably not antique but not recently made either. My guess is 1970s.
Recently repainted in forest green -- was painted black when we originally acquired it.
Table has central hole so a parasol pole can be inserted through it (not supplied).
You may think the asking price is on the high side but most metal garden furniture sold these days is cast aluminium, or sometimes "wrought" iron/steel or aluminium, even though it is often incorrectly described as cast iron by people who either don't know the difference or hope that YOU don't know the difference!
Cast iron is generally better quality and is usually much heavier, as with this set we are selling.
For those not sure of the difference, "cast" metal furniture is made by pouring the appropriate molten metal into a mould so each component piece sets in its final shape. The individual components are usually then bolted together. Both iron and aluminium can be cast.
"Wrought" metal furniture is generally made by twisting and bending bars/strips or ribbons of metal into the desired shapes and then welding or soldering the various components together.Hence you get "wrought iron" gates. Wrought metal garden chairs generally look less robust than cast metal.
Apart from weight, you can best identify which metal it is by putting a magnet to it -- aluminium isn't magnetic whereas iron is. This set is definitely cast iron -- as well as passing the magnet test, the chairs weigh 12kgs each whereas equivalent chairs in aluminium usually weigh about 4kgs.
Apart from being a lot more prestigious and sought after, one other advantage of cast iron furniture is it's unlikely to blow over in strong winds!

Please look at all the photos, as they do form part of the description and give you a good idea of colour and condition.
Potential buyers are welcome to view without obligation, by arrangement with the vendor.
The garden set is situated at the vendor's home, midway between Ringwood and Ferndown.
Further specific photos can be taken and emailed on request or any questions re condition etc will be answered promptly.
Payment can be by Paypal, or cash on collection.
Collection in person is preferred.
If not collecting in person, the purchaser must arrange their own courier at their own risk.
Cast iron can break if not handled with care. The asking/selling price does not include the cost of appropriate protective wrapping for 3rd party transport (which, in the case of a heavy garden set like this, can involve a lot of material and time) so please check with vendor before purchasing if 3rd party transport and a requirement for protective wrapping are envisaged.
