Heartbreaking sale of this lovely Highland X gelding, 9 years old. 14.1hh. Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. He's as close to bombproof as you can get! Hacks out alone or in company. Perfect in all traffic! Has hunted all season with the Grove and Rufford (nearly every week) and Yorkshire Farmers Bloodhounds. He will jump anything, including taking the lead over scary ditches and water.
Stands still perfectly at meets. Loves hounds! I've done XC with him and a hunter trial and SJ competition. His previous owner did this as well as dressage and endurance with him. Very rarely spooks and if he does it's just a slight step to one side! You can ride him to the pub and he'll stand with you without any other horses about while you have a drink without getting impatient or making a fuss.
Easy to load, clip, catch etc. Good doer and even when hunting every week only needs hay. Has lived out all winter.
Only downside is he can be strong, I hunt him in a Pelham with 2 reins which he responds to brilliantly.
The only reasons I'm selling him is because I have been made redundant and also he has tripped with me a few times, causing me to fall off and I've lost my confidence in him. With a less top heavy/shorter rider I'm sure he'd be more balanced. I am also more used to my other horse's jump (who is an Arab X) and just can't get used to this pony's powerful, shapely jump! It's a heartbreaking sale as I absolutely love him and he's perfect in every way but our conformation doesn't seem to fit and we're just not gelling sadly.
He's vaccinated and wormed up to date. Had the dentist a week ago. Great feet and is only shod in front. Completely honest sale and I can give references. I am still in touch with his previous owner who had him 5 years and did loads with him. Loads more photos available on request. Still fit from hunting season and ready to go. I can transport him to you depending on where abouts you are.
Comes with custom made personalised Bates Saddle and all tack/rugs.
