Selling my beloved Marshall amp and cab that has served me well for the last 5 years. Reluctant sale but I have downsized to a smaller amp due to less gigging.
The amp is 100 watts which is useful if you want a lot of headroom but there is also a VPR switch to put it down to 25 watts (I ran it this way pretty much all the time) which makes the volume far more manageable. 25 watts is still plenty loud enough for gigs and there is a cab emulated output for connecting to a PA without needing to mic up a cab. This actually sounds very good and I ended switching from micing up to the emulated output. The best part of the head for me is the practicality - 3 foot switchable channels (trying to find a smaller 3-channel amp is a nightmare). This is extremely useful in live situations without needing extra drive pedals, although the amp takes pedal well both in front and in the effects loop. More details on the amp itself can be found on the internet with a quick google search.
The head was serviced with a replacement circuit board, valves and reverb tank in 2014, this cost £267 (see photo of the front page of the report) - I can send a full pdf copy if you wish. If you are not already aware, the boards originally fitted to the Amp became defective after a while where the heat caused the board to malfunction and leak; stopping it from working. This one has been replaced with the most recent board that does not suffer from the issue. IF YOU BUY A TSL 100 PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE - I wasn't and paid the price to get a replacement circuit board.
I'd probably recommend a service be carried out to the amp upon purchase - not because there are any issues, just because it has been over 4 years since the last one. It has probably done around 700 hours since then.
There are rips in the tolex - some quite significant as can be seen in the photographs. This doesn't affect the sound at all and most of the tears were there when I bought the amp originally. If you want it looking pristine then this probably isn't for you although i'm sure repairs are available!
The cab is in good condition - the speakers are all in perfect working order. I've never had an issue with it, again rips to the tolex and a tear the top right corner (see photos). None of which affect the sound. Wheels work fine, which my back is very thankful for.
The footswitch has worked perfectly since I bought the amp 5 years ago - apparently these footswitches are a bit dodgy from what I've read in forums etc but never had an issue with this one! Very long cable too which is great for gigs.
Power cable and speaker cable included in sale.
Sensible offers accepted, no swaps as I already have another amp.
Collection preferable, I'll be happy to transport to some areas of Devon and/or Cornwall if essential if it ties in with work travelling. Cash preferred.
