Very cute 14.2HH 9yr old Piebald gelding.
In the school Donkey has 3 nice paces. He will walk, trot and canter in the school, is balanced and gets the right leg… if you take your leg off he will stop… he really will do as little as is asked of him you have to ride him.
Jumping… Well Donkey finds this exhausting.. He has not done much in this area so would certainly school on to do better. He doesn’t look at coloured fences or fillers. He will pop around a small clear round and pop little logs down the fields, but is no show jumper in the making.
Open spaces Donkey is well mannered, whether alone or with other horses is not forward, strong or silly, is easy to pull up and always in a snaffle
Hacking, Donkey is a great and sensible hack, he hacks alone or in company and will go first or last. He hacks all our country lanes passed cars, other people hacking, tractors etc and is excellent on the main road into town passing busses and lorries. We also ride Donkey passed the primary school, with children playing, screaming and running up to the fence, he is not bothered about their toys or balls flying round.
Donkey has been XC schooling with us and was such a genuine ride, jumped everything asked and confidence grew and grew, he made a nice shape over the fences and was a honest, genuine ride. Happy to watch other horses and even go off on his own away from another horse.
Donkey is easy to catch, he is turn out in 30 acres and comes to call, good to lead alone or with other horses. He is good to brush and tack up but can take advantage if allowed to for example try and follow you out of stable etc…. he does not do this with us but may try his luck.
Donkey would suit a mother daughter share, for someone coming off riding school horses and wanting their own pony. If you are looking for a competitive ride then he is not the pony for you, he would suit a ridding school as far more kick on than pull back.
No loans, LWVTB, or payment plans, he does not come with any tack however that can be fitted for you.
