Nigel is a 9 year old, 12.2 skewbald cob. He loves children and has a very sweet nature and loves to play. He is also a very capable forward going little chap and loves to jump. He has been hacking out with just his rider and has been as good as gold. He is ready for pony club which is within riding distance. He needs a lot of exercise as he is prone to being tubby.
Rosie is a beautiful bay mare standing at 13hh. She is spirited, loves to jump and enjoys working. She is 11 years old. She has a strong will but once bonded with her rider, is very obliging.
Rosie is a natural winner. She is more suited to an older, more experienced rider but responds well to confidence and gentle assertiveness. She has proven she is better in a bit-less bridle.
She will work well in the school and hacks out well, although initially this will have to be with others. We are just bringing her back to fitness so would prefer slow short rides to start.
Please only apply if you are genuinely interested and fairly local.
These ponies need to work and need people who can ride and take care of them them on a regular basis. Even if this is once or twice per week. Ideally it would be most days but we appreciate that people are busy.
Included in the share will be some work with our trainer. This will involve learning how to long rein and school the ponies. All such work will be supervised either by us or our trainer and should not be undertaken by the riders/ sharers unless we are present.
If you are under 16, we will expect your parent/guardian to be present throughout, especially if we are unable to be there. The ponies will enjoy the extra company and Mums/Dads will benefit from being around the ponies. They are therapeutic and offer a great exercise regime. Sharing the ponies will save on Gym fees, give plenty of fresh air & enable the family to spend quality time together.
Just think of those proud moments when Rosie and Nigel win the Pony Club competitions. They are fast and competitive. They are very capable jumpers and just need the right people to take them further.
We would love to be small enough to ride them as we know how good they are. Alas we are too tall and too fat. It will be hard to find two horses we can ride ourselves, who have as much spirit and character as these two wonderful little hairy monsters.
