Flora and Lana have kidded this year and are both being hand milked twice a day. They currently live in a small herd of four, where they are at the bottom end of the pecking order.
Flora - 4 year old Golden Guernsey cross
She’s quite a compact goat who produces about 1.5L of milk a day at peak lactation and is now currently averaging about 800ml-1L. She’s very sweet but can be a bit shy with new people. She stands well to be milked and has a nicely shaped udder for hand milking.
Lana - 4 year old Golden Guernsey/British Saanen cross
Bigger than Flora but not overly large. She had twins in spring and produced about 2L of milk a day at peak lactation and is now currently averaging about 1.5L. Lana requires a bit more of a firm hand when being milked, but learns to respect people and is generally alright if you finish milking before she finishes her food.
Both goats are apart of an urban agricultural project based in Bristol, so are very used to lots of different sights, sounds and people. They can go together or separately but would need some companionship if the latter.
We’re looking to reduce our numbers over winter, hence the reluctant sale of these two lovely gals. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions.
