Martinez Stage Guitar MSCC 14rs 2014 Spruce / Rosewood - 48mm nut - 650mm scale. Condition is Used.
I bought this new in 2014 from Alphenaar in Holland (I couldn't find one in the UK) as my main stage guitar for my jazz quartet and solo gigs. It looks great and attracts a lot of comment from interested audience members - but most importantly it does the job amazingly well! It is a narrow body electro-classical "crossover" guitar designed for stage use. Yet it is still quite loud played acoustically.
New ones are hard to find outside China / Japan and you'd have to pay around $1200 (not including the case).
Here's a summary...
Solid spruce top
Solid rosewood back and sides
C profile neck - 48mm nut - 650mm standard scale - truss rod
Modern design - tick shape sound hole and sound port on side - helps in hearing the natural sound on stage
Built in B Band electrics: Includes tuner, volume, phase shift and EQ
Never - ever - had any feedback problems!
New Savarez Corum strings
Hard Case included - brown faux leather / red interior
Martinez is a German/ Chinese venture making good quality instruments. The guitar was designed by Kenny Hill the famous USA luthier (his guitars sell for $000s) and manufactured in China. The only reason I am selling is that I have just taken delivery of a new hand made guitar and I need to sell one of my guitars (either this or the Hanika also on sale on here).
Wear and tear
The Martinez has been gigged a fair few times and shows some wear.
There are some 'golpe' marks where my flamenco playing has been a bit over the top!
Just behind the bridge are a couple of marks caused by strings coming undone during re-stringing. My bad!
The back took a knock on stage one day and has a line of small marks / indentations
And there is a tiny crack between the strap pin/ jack socket and the battery compartment.
None of these affect how it plays and I will be very happy if I keep this guitar for a long time by selling the Hanika.
The case suffered a puppy bite at the bass player's house. 'Nuff said!
