I bought this guitar in 1994 from Matt Umanov Guitars on Bleecker Street, NYC - sadly just ceased trading when I went to visit last April 2018; lights still on but no stock.
I tried it against a LP 25/50 which looked lovely, but this one had it. It has been re-fretted by a previous owner but is all original including the sought after Tim Shaw wound pickups. It has aged well and is the only guitar I have that I haven't strung with 11's - it takes 12's and is still very nice to play and sounds great.
I've used it for around 1000 gigs since I bought it, but sadly am suffering with recurring trigger finger/tenosynovitis, so its time to let someone else love it. I swore that I would be buried with this guitar, but since then have decided that I want to be cremated which would not be right!
The case is the original and typically the handle has broken - around 2005 from memory and I always intended to replace it, however the improvised handle has served perfectly well so I haven't. All catches and hinges work and its road relic'd!
