Advert Description

We will have a small quantity of Angora Goats for sale, young stock from 2019 and a couple of 2018 youngsters too.
Any sale will be of small groups as opposed to single goats as they are a herd animal and will struggle and not find happiness on their own.
So no enquiries asking for a price for 1 for your girlfriends birthday!!!
Genuine enquiries only.
The Angora is a relatively rare breed in the UK and has a wonderful nature. Docile and very loving. I would describe them in temperament as more like a dog than a sheep! Although they are often mistaken for sheep due the the mohair fibre they provide.
Mohair has many uses and one of the finest natural fibres with kid fleece or fibre from young wetters most sought after and commanding the highest value.
The breed would be suitable as companions for horses or ponies.
Can also be kept with other animals too.
Please get in touch if you are interested in having a chat about some lovely Angoras.
Prices start at around £250 although we do have a few available for less money too.
Our 2 2018 wethers will be less as they are out of a coloured doe but produce beautiful mohair for spinning etc
If you are not really interested in breeding but want to keep angoras to produce beautiful mohair then wethers would be the recommendation. They do not reach the same size as a breeding buck and come with none of the trappings of a breeding animal. Lovely temperament and not affected by seasons!
As a breed they produce around an inch of fibre or fleece per month so will require a balanced diet to get the best from them and maintenance along the way.
They are sensible and like to shelter in wet weather and ideally are best kept housed over winter just to keep them in best condition.
