#86 - Land Rover 110 V8 Station Wagon
This is the description and history from the previous owner, who inherited the car from his deceased father's estate about a year and a half ago and has undertaken to forward the history folder which documents the extensive work carried out and authenticates the genuine low mileage.
As the car was transferred from a UK registration to a Northern Irish registration, the MOT and mileage documentation is kept on a different database, and we the vendors undertake to provide whatever information is accessible from the Northern Irish DVLA (driver vehicle licence authority) as and when we receive it.
The timeline of the vehicle's ownership:
First owner: Bournemouth airport: the vehicle was ordered from Land Rover special vehicles with a military specification build as it was intended for use as a rapid response support truck and runway and perimeter inspection duties.
The vehicle was kept in a closed aircraft hangar and in fact was only used very occasionally, though it was serviced regularly by the local Land Rover main agent, and subject to the usual safety inspections as are all public service vehicles such as fire engines, ambulances and emergency support vehicles.
2nd owner: the vehicle went into private ownership to a gentleman in Surrey as a 4th, occasional use leisure vehicle, alongside his classic Jaguar and Aston Martin. It was kept in a purpose-built private collector's car garage facility and regularly serviced, in spite of the fact that it was very rarely used. Certain "civilian" modifications were brought to the vehicle so as to make it more comfortable and usable. The information concerning these modifications should be in the history folder as and when it turns up.
3rd owner: Mr Laverty, deceased, electrical engineer and passionate perfectionist and Land Rover enthusiast.
Mr Laverty undertook extensive work to the vehicle, adding a host of Land Rover upgrades, whilst retaining all the essential original features.
The list of upgrades is extensive:
galvanised front bumper with rubber end caps,
front brush guard/bull bar with spotlights,
Wella wider profile wheels and road tyres
full external chassis mounted roll cage with spotlights,
factory mud flaps
fold down sidesteps,
galvanised rock sliders connected to chassis member in place of modesty panel on both sills,
the truck is fitted with double tinted sliding side windows,
NAS rear step and towbar mound with 50 mil ball.
With regards the interior extensive work is being carried out including:
fitting of a factory 16-inch steering wheel,
quality stereo CD system with under dash speakers and dash top mounted speakers,
mud stuff centre console with auxiliary switches,
heated rear screen,
centre console cubby box with cup holders,
Tmax charging system,
full carpet and soundproofing throughout (including under the bonnet),
the rear is fitted with double inward facing bench seats with cloth trim and lap belts,
the entire headlining is soundproofed with Veltrim, as are the side walls.
The 48,760 miles are genuine low miles!
