Brilliant to hack. The worst he would do is a little yee haa buck(hump) going into canter.
He LOVES hacking.
He doesn't really like children under 6.. I think because they are louder and jump around and irritate him. He will make faces at them..
He doesnt like being shared.. stopping out on a hack to alter stirrups and rider. He just wants to ride and be left alone basically.
Hes snaffle mouthed. Good in traffic
Great to catch . Clip and shoe. Teeth he needs to be sedated.
He has been on loan twice and keeps coming back...
He needs adult supervision!
When an adult is present.. butter wouldnt melt. When hes left with children unsupervised he will try his luck. Get Bargy. Can head butt just be rude (reports from being on loan)
Now I've found it very difficult to correct the behaviour when
he doesnt act like that here. But I handle him and always supervised.
To be 100% honest.
1st loan home he kicked out in the stable and caught the 12yo in the thigh.
The situation being horses being fed either side and him not having a feed himself because he was fat.
So in temper he kicked and unfortunately the girl was in the stable and got kicked . Regardless of the situation... he shouldnt of done it..
Second loan home. Again Couldnt fault him ridden. But unsupervised he actually bit her child. Once on the feild when she was playing and once in the stable. Both times un supervised
We believe he went in to share his haynet (pretending to be a horse) and he bit her chin.
Again. Regardless of situation.
he shouldnt of done it.
I collected him straight away.
It's very hard to correct behaviour when he doesnt behave like that at home.
The best I can do is to be honest and try and find him the right home.
I'm sure he loves it here as he settles back in like hes never left being away for months at a time. But hes wasted. Not needed and no rider.
