Care Sheet

Ramulus Artemis, commonly called the Vietnamese Giant Stick Insect
Adults are all female,  nymphs and adults are beige to green. When you include the front legs, this stick insect is about 21 cm long. The body length is about 15 cm.

The Vietnamese stick insect is a good insect for children; they are docile and climb slowly once they have reached adult size. The nymphs can be fast and can lose limbs easily. They will regrow limbs as long as they are not fully grown yet.

Food

The most common food is Blackberry which is available all year. They also eat Oak, Raspberry, Privet, and Haze.

Hydration

I spray the leaves in the enclosure with a fine mist of water daily (twice a day on very hot summer days) but if you miss spraying once or twice a week, these ladies will be fine.

Housing

Being a longer species requires you to have a tall enough screen cage for molting. My enclosures are 60cm tall. They do well at room temperature.

Reproduction

The Vietnamese Stick Insect needs no males to reproduce. Insects will start to hatch in 2 month. I leave my eggs on a piece of kitchen role (misted lightly whenever the paper is completely dry) in the tubs your stick insects arrive in.

If you want more than 10, please message me.
