Brownie’s a 4 yr, 15.2hh, thicker type, Thoroughbred Mare.
She’s had lots of downtime, attention and care with us since her time in racing training. We were told by the previous owner she was trained to race but never actually did.
Brownie’s a beautiful looking girl with a lovely trot when in the field with her friends. She’s very inquisitive and curious.
Brownie was for my 11 yr old daughter but needs a more experienced home than I can offer her.
Since her time with us earlier this year, we’ve allowed her to relax, spend time with horses in the field, with no pressure on her. We’ve not attempted to ride or tack her up. The previous owner told me they’d put tack on her with no problem. I have a photo with tack from her training days. She’s been fully wormed and vaccinated in Mar 21. Brownie’s come a long way since being with us but she does have her quirks and is not for a novice home. She’s very nervous around people but has built trust up with me. She was sold to us with an undisclosed sarcoid on her inner back leg. This has since come off itself. She was good with the farrier on her front feet but not her back. We’re working on grooming but she is very wary of grooming her back end. She’s been good for the vet with injections and is used to being tied up in the stable but needs work to tie up outside. She is very marish and tries to be dominant if you let her but results of recent tests I have had done show her hormonal levels are in the normal range. Her stable and ground manners are being worked on but aren’t perfect, again she can be nervous of anyone around her back end. She can do mini bucks and rears with excitement when she sees you or knows it’s food time, she enjoys her food but can be protective of her food.
Brownie needs a good, knowledgeable home who can give her time and bring her on. With time, patience and fairness I’m hoping that she makes a good all rounder and goes to another loving home. Adult only home, absolutely no novices
