Advert Description

Stunning oak long case clock of 30 hour duration. Stands magnificently at 79.5" high.
The oak case is a good patination, which stands on a plain base with a small shaped plinth and the flat topped hood with applied yew rectangles to the top frieze has turned pillars with brass bases and capitals flanking the dial. The trunk has a long door with a decorative escutcheon and brass hinges.
The 11" square white dial has decorative floral and foliate decoration to the corners and a beautiful hot air balloon below the 12. It is signed "Rodolphus Preece, Hereford" and has a date aperture. The matching steel hands are of a Breguet style.
The 30 hour movement countwheel strkes on a bell and has a lenticular brass faced pendulum and a small lead weight.
This beautiful clock was bought several years ago for £2,5000 from Jillings, antique clock retailer.
