The lidded dip black Jasperware trinket box has a white Jasper neoclassical bas relief on the lid depicting ‘Ulysses Staying the Chariot of Victory’. Around the edge of the lid is an Oak leaf and Acorn border relief. Around the sides is a frieze of eight groups of different cherub scenes. Round scalloped design, approximately 5” (125mm) in diameter and 2” (50mm) high Wedgwood. Made in England, impressed on bottom. Potters mark W and what appears to be 75 – date mark 1975? No visible chips or marks. After 1997 Black Jasperware was usually produced just for limited special pieces. An unusual gift to keep small items safe.
