Advert Description

Oxfam Shop Plymouth Tregaskes, Tregaskis, Tregaskiss all stem from the same root. In his book Mr. Tregaskes has traced the evolution of the surname from the records of the Duchy of Cornwall, Manor of Moresk and of the Parish of St. Clement, Truro, where the family lived for 300 years. Its history is inevitably part of St. Clement, Truro.Photocopies of original documents, maps and family trees all combine to place on record the origins and genealogy of one of the oldest Cornish families. Whilst of particular interest to members of the family, this book covers the general history of St.Clement from the 18th century, and focusing on the unique Duchy of Cornwall archives will prove invaluable to a wide readership engaged in local history and specialised research. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spine.Front board is slightly warped with a small dark stain, otherwise condition is very good. Some foxing to the pastedowns, end papers and bottom page edges. Dust jacket has a tear to top of spine and some tanning inside. All other pages are clean and securely bound. Printed in 1981 and signed by the author to the title page.
