Advert Description

The Collin's Adventure Annual, edited by John R. Crossland, contains twelve exciting stories written to entertain children. The book begins with 'The Bronze Bell' by Lieutenant-Colonel A. Lloyd Owen. There is also a one-page set of instructions on how to make a fretwork sandwheel. The volume is not dated but was probably a first edition published in the 1930s. It is beautifully illustrated throughout with black and white line drawings. There are also three colour plus four black and white plates. The pictorial board frontcover depicts three native American indians on horseback. The boards are stained and very rubbed along the edges; the brown cloth spine is marked and worn. The book block is intact, the pages themselves are yellowed and slightly foxed. There is a small neat ink inscription on the front flyleaf. Despite these signs of wear and age, this is a delightful book of its time. See Oxfam website for delivery information
