Tooled spine with gilded lettering . Foxing throughout. Condition is very good for age of book. The Delivered Jerusalem ( Gerusalemme liberata ) is an epic poem written in Italian in 1581 by Le Tasse , recounting a largely fictional tale of the First Crusade, during which the Christian knights led by Godefroy de Bouillon fight the Muslims (Saracens ) in order to lift the Siege of Jerusalem in 1099 . The poem is composed of stanzas of eight verses, grouped in twenty songs of variable length. See Oxfam website for delivery information
