Advert Description

Oxfam Books & Music Nottingham Put together in Conjunction with The Holocaust Centre of Laxton Newark, this book is a collection of poems on the subject of The Holocaust or 'Shoah'. Even some 70 years after the events of The Holocaust, so much still defies explanation and comprehension regarding the nature of genocide, especially in this most egregious and shocking of examples, being so recent and grotesque. Not only is it hard for people to comprehend systematised dehumanisation and murder in this manner, but the extend makes the task impossible: one can empathise with the suffering of another individual, but the mind simply cannot fathom the suffering of multiple millions. Here, poets have come together to lend as human an expression to the suffering of the millions as they can. Their works are both eloquent and emotively powerful, but above all an important step in ensuring the memory of The Holocaust avoids the forgetfulness that comes with time. Students and enthusiasts of poetry and literature would do well to buy this book. In good condition, very slightly marked cover. See Oxfam website for delivery information
