The book tells the story of Wilson's exciting but often tempestuous career: how the chance of powered flight slipped from his grasp in 1899; his contribution to motor design - particularly the Wilson gearbox; his crucial role in the development of the tank; and of how he nearly developed the jet engine. Illustrated with photographs and technical drawings. Hardback, in good condition, dust jacket is a little worn at the edges and faded on the spine. Former owner signature on final page of Tailpiece.
