Advert Description

Oxfam Shop Plymouth David Garrick is that rare, otherworldly talented, enigma of popular culture, whose interests and drive drove him in to forays unimagined by lesser mortals. Born Philip Daryl Core, Liverpool 1945, the indescribable phenomenon's first passion was Opera, which he studies in Milan after winning a scholarship. His landmark breakthrough, came with a sublime rendition of "Dear Mrs. Applebee" which achieved an incredible number one in Germany. A song that saw a transition from opera, while retaining it's proclivity for a heightened emotional electricity, to pop in to which a core, elemental reverence for suburban humility and longing, bled. Someone whose breadth and sense of wonder, whose imaginative discoveries pertaining to what could be done in the world, caused a new name to be developed to define this entity, "poppera - star." Vinyl is magnificent. Box is fair. GH 571 B - 1 A X See Oxfam website for delivery information
