A lovely seated female terracotta figure (Nayarit, San Sebastián style). Reddish brown with remains of tattooing (negative resist pattern). Characteristically elongated visage and incised coiffure. Her face shows sophisticated contours, a prominent nose, incised eyes and open mouth. She has a child under the left arm and is elaborately adorned with a white hairband, double-strand necklace, and grand ear ornaments.
