Oxfam Books & Music Hereford "Containing a List of the Exhibitors of the United Kingdom and its Colonies, and the Objects which they Exhibit. In English, French, German and Italian. With Statistical Instructions and an Appendix in which many of the objects exhibited are more fully described." Published by Her Britannic Majesty's commissioners, 1868. This was the second Universal Exhibition to be held in Paris after that of 1855. The Universal Exhibition of 1867 was also called the Universal Exhibition of Art and Industry and it took place on the Champ de Mars and on the island of Billancourt. First edition. Red boards, stamp of seal and crown on front. The volume is full of illustrations and has a fold-out plan attached to the front end-paper. The binding is still firm. An historic document and hard to find. The document is arranged in sections in English, French, German and Italian. With period advertisements at rear. CONDITION: Corners bumped, front board slightly concave to shape of text. Spine has gilt lettering and crown. Top and bottom of spine rubbed with a few small nicks. Pages are clean though edges have brown spots. There is an ownership label inside the front cover and an inscription on the page facing this. Both are contemporary.
