As shown in the photos, beautiful and rare original Aldine (known as first press) entitled"Polybii - Historiarum Libri Quinque In Latiam Conversi Linguam, Nicolao Perotto Interprete"Published in Venice (Venetiis) by Aldo and Andrea in-laws (Aedibus Aldi et Andreae Soceri) in March of 1521.In 8vo, (15.3 x 10.2 cm), marbled half leather cover with beautiful gold titles on the spine, perfectly legible (see photos), sheets numbered from 69 to 310, with the complete Storie by Polybius. Authentic very rare Aldine, part four of Tito Livio "Ex XIIII T. Livii Decadibus. Prima, Tertia, Quarta, in qua praeter fragmenta III, & X libri, quae in Germania nuper reperta [...]" (it starts from sheet 69 because bibliographically it is a part of the 4th volume of Manutius’s Tito Livio) and it is very rare to find it by itself with its own title page (see last photo with the chronological series of the Aldines). Renouard p. 90 no. 3 mentions: Esemplare Tirato A Parte Per Essere Venduto Da Solo.In good condition, missing the last sheet with the Aldine anchor and the bottom outer corner of the last present sheet with the bookplate (see photos), without loss of text. Horizontal tear at the bottom also on the penultimate page (see photo, also without any loss of text), tiny defect on the outer corners of 1/2 sheets, as shown in the photos, and minuscule woodworm traces, which, far from the text, do not affect the reading (see photos). An excellent first print Aldine with very high market value and absent from online sales.Extremely hard to find published individually, like it is here.Happy bidding! 22882229
