A beautiful work of the famous painter and co-founder of the Groninger Ploeg with a sitting in beautiful pose "Nude". It is made as a chalk drawing and watercolour paint in soft and in somewhat expressionistic colours.It suggests a very beautifully drawn nude sitting on the edge of her bed.The watercolour is from around 1930 and comes originally from the legacy of George and obtained through his son Mathijs. The work is signed with the studio stamp "-Martens-".Framed in a beautiful wooden frame.The whole is in good condition and is accompanied by a declaration of authenticity.Will be carefully packed and shipped by insured mail by PostNL or pick up in Groningen. George Martens:He got his first lessons from his father, who made seascapes. In 1912 he began as an apprentice at the Academie Minerva, where he met his future wife Alida Pott, as well as Johan Dijkstra and Jan Wiegers with whom he founded the art association De Ploeg in 1918.In De Ploeg, Martens was especially influenced by Jan Wiegers and through him by Kirchner who also made cityscapes. 22805793
