Catawiki’s goal is to make special objects universally available. Our weekly auctions feature thousands of unusual, rare, and exceptional objects you won’t find in just any store. These are 10, 1/43 scale miniature cars released by Solido between 1988 and 1994 known because of the original packaging from the era, so they are between 24 and 30 years old, when Solido models were still made in France. The miniatures of this lot represent exclusively American sports cars from the 1980s-90s in different shades. These are, (in the order of appearance of the pictures) the following miniatures:- 5 Chevrolet Camaro : 4 ‘standards’ of different colours and 1 ‘Racing’- 2 Chevrolet Corvette (1984) : 1 Coupe and 1 Convertible- 1 Chevrolet Corvette 68- 2 Ford Mustang : 1964 1/2 (Convertible) and 1965 (Racing)These models were acquired in new condition nearly 20 years ago were exhibited in a window for a dozen years, protected from dust, light and heat. The rest of the time they have been stored in their boxes. As the photos show, the vehicles (never used), accompanied by their accessories when they exist (Decals for the Camaro and Mustang of ‘Racing’ type), as their packaging obviously original, are in perfect states, except for the following:-Black Camaro with red interior: 2 of the 4 corners of the packaging box in clear plastic are slightly cracked or even with a small missing piece (see photos 52 and 53). Concerning the miniature, the underside of the chassis has its altered paint (swellings) (See picture 59). In addition its left rear wheel is squeaky (see photo 60).-Yellow corvette: a small flaw is visible on its bonnet (outgrowth of painting) (See picture 81)- White Ford Mustang: 1 of the 4 corners of the packaging box in clear plastic is slightly split (see photo 107).These small anomalies that only concern two miniatures and two boxes are clearly acceptable for older models/boxes of 24 to 30 years old.Precision regarding packaging, all intact original:The "Hi-Fi" series was introduced by Solido in 1988. Hi-Fi was then replaced by the series "To Day" in 1991. Also the ‘Sixties’ series appeared in 1985 and includes models from the 1950s and 1960s. The series ‘Yesterday’ appeared in 1992 and includes models of the 1970s and 1980s. Finally, the ‘Racing’ series appeared in 1993 in order to group the competition models. This explains why there are packages that differ over time although the miniatures are at the same level of production. Note that some ‘Hi-Fi’ are released without their cardboard envelope as for the 2 Corvette of 1984. This is why the barcode is fixed directly to the plastic box (see photo 64 and 74)Apart from that, some bluish reflections that can appear in the photos betray simply the colour of the smartphone used to take the pictures. The set is sent via Colissimo with tracking 22698343
