In seven volumes - London, Chapman & Hall, 1869 - linen bindings with gold print on the spine.Complete with 32 cards, partly coloured / fold-out. The most elaborate biography about Frederick II or Frederick the Great (1712-1786), King of Prussia. He was not only renowned as an enlightened ruler, though also as the one that started the Seven Year War (1756-1763) to enlarge his territory. Frederick developed into a great military strategist and was admired by many later generations.
