Oxfam Bookshop Banbury Hardcover album, bound in peacock blue silk, with gold lettering, containing 48 lovely tipped-in colour plates, published in Beijing. Incomplete - originally published with 69 plates, but some of the album card leaves (with their tipped-in plates) have been removed from this album and only 48 remain (some of the leaves are loose). The Introduction (3pp.) and Table of Contents are in Chinese, but a full list of plate numbers and their subjects (i.e. animals depicted) is available on request. Dimensions (book): approx. 38.5cm x 30cm. Dimensions (sheets): approx. 38cm x 28.5cm. Set G1 NOTE: Please see other listings from the Banbury shop for a number of other incomplete albums like this that are being listed at the same time. CONDITION: ...The attractive peacock blue silk-bound cover, with gilt chinese lettering to front and spine, is in fair to good condition with some fading and light shelfwear to edges and spine. Some staining (possibly water) to top part of boards and spine with a little accompanying creasing of silk surface and, internally to top of the endpapers - prints not affected in any way. The 48 lovely tipped-in colour prints are all in very good, bright and clean condition. The album leaves (some detached) are in generally clean and bright condition.
