Upbeat 2006 romcom in which a girl from the Himalayas seeks her fortune in Hollywood. Arriving in California to find the man she was arranged to marry has other plans, Shalini (Namrata Singh Gujral) has to quickly find her feet in the land of opportunity. Noticed by aspiring talent scout Rob Shorwell (Brad Raider), who's under orders to find the next big star, Shalini soon undergoes a transformation at the hands of Rob, who promotes her as Hispanic and changes her name to Shelley Picante. Now, as she soaks up the cultural differences in her new-found home and begins to climb the celebrity ladder, her starstruck ambitions suddenly start to recede, as both she and Rob realise that romance in on the horizon.
