This booklet is intended to teach readers how to identify, treat and defend against a chemical attack. It begins by looking at the different classifications of chemical agents, before looking at some (lung irritants, blistering agents and sensory irritants) in more detail. It then looks at gases not used offensively, such as carbon monoxide, and at how to treat them. It then looks at defensive measures, such as developing gas-proof shelters, protection of food and water, organisation of aid-posts and decontamination centres. It then looks at gas mask exercises, followed by an appendix and index. The booklet is in good condition, with no major damage. Externally, the cover is slgihtly worn and discoloured but is intact. Internally, there is some browning to pages and the middle sheet (pages 33-36) has come loose from the staples, but the pages are clean and the illustrations clear.
