A book attempting to provide the readers with a basic understanding of astronomy, of how to observe the workings of the stars and other bodies visible from the ground, written before space flight struck the public consciousness. Whilst likely out of date for anyone trying to pursue a career, for the understandings in this book remain relevant to this day for the casual observer, or even somebody just interested in how previous generations observed the workings of space.
This book is in very good condition, considering it is 130 years old. It has suffered fairly minimimal reading and shelf wear, with a little damage to the spine, but no more than would conventionally be associated with a book less than a tenth of its age.
