The publication that accompanied the exhibition of the works of Emile Bernard in the Städtische Kunsthalle Mannheim from 12 May to 5 August 1990 and in Rijksmuseum Vincetn van Gogh in Amsterdam from 24 August to 4 November 1990. Emile Bernard, along with Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gaugin, with whom he was friends for a short time, is among the major artists of the generation that followed the Impressionists. In the period between 1886 and 1893 he created path-breaking works which make him one of the important pioneers of modern art.
Pictorial covers are fine, with slightly bumped corners; creased front cover. Spine in good condition. Very tightly bound. Clean edges showing no signs of tanning or foxing. Contents very clean and bright, profusely illustrated with black-and-white and colour reproductions of the works included in the exhibitions.
