Advert Description

Oxfam Bookshop Brigg

Wu Sung was on his way home when he got drunk and killed a man-eating tiger. Thus he became known as the Tiger Slayer - and to his complete bewilderment he was proclaimed an honoured hero. But the I-Ching teaches that everything changes; and, accordingly, Wu Sung the Hero soon became Wu Sung the Bandit. He joined the outlaw band of Li Ch'ung, an aristocrat sworn to oppose and ultimately overthrow the corrupt eunuch who ruled China through a vain and stupid puppet Emperor. But, although a mere bandit, Wu Sung knew that between the best and worst of us there is no more than the thickness of a butterfly's wing. The only doubt lies in deciding which side of the wing one is on...

The illustrated cover has light general handling marks and indentations, some rubbing to corners and edges, plus a few light creases. Light foxing has affected rear leaves and the back cover edge, and some inside pages have very light tanning to the margins. Soundly bound.
