A geographical and historical analysis of the famous story of Lorna Doone in its West Country context, assessing the evidence for the existence of a real family called the Doones. Illustrated throughout with b/w photographs. Paper cover creased and frayed, with a 3cm tear between front cover and spine. Staples are rusting and staining the paper around them. Pages otherwise in good condition with very little dog-earing and almost no discolouration. Fold-out map attached to back cover, slightly creased but otherwise well-preserved.
