Oxfam Shop Devizes
This evocative book was published in 1938 by Steven & Sons and Sweet & Maxwell. Its chapters cover the gamut of agricultural law from adulteration to yew trees via manure and poaching.
Tucked into the book is a review, generally favourable but drawing their attention to an error on page 100. There is also a letter, dated 27th March 1939, from Sorby & Co in Sheffield, this thanks the publisher for sending the law firm a copy on approval, but stating that it is unsuitable as it lacks a table of statutes.
This is a chance to catch a little of agricultural life between the wars.
