Advert Description

Oxfam Bookshop Henley-on-Thames

The editor's copy - a most unusual document - the wealth of material impossible to capture in just the eight photographs allowed.

236 printed pages, alternating with blank pages bound in, some of these blank pages containing handwritten notes, and with some further notes on the printed pages. Inclusions include several letters from the publisher to the editor, these either laid in or loose, and several loose sheets of notes. Beyond the printed block occur further, hand-numbered pages (up to p. 292) bound in; these further pages in three groups: up to p. 255 containing hand-written notes and images of watermarks pasted in; from p. 256 to p. 285 blank; and from p. 286 containing hand-written notes, plus pasted in two printed letters from the publisher (requests for information from third parties) and several newspaper reviews of the present work.

Editor's name on ffep. Corners and edges rubbed and bumped, cloth a little discoloured with the odd mark, binding sound with hinges secure (albeit with a touch of crackle), bookbinder's label discreetly on front pastedown, endpapers a little darkened but pages bright.

Weight 1150g. Size 21.6 x 15 x 4.8 cm.
