Gustav Klingert Gustavovich (1836-1921 ) was a Moscow merchant, manufacturer, antique coins collector, who founded his silverware factory in 1865.
The factory produced table silver and also received special commissions, such as commemorative coronation dishes. Klingert's works were awarded medals at various international exhibitions in London and Edinburgh (1886), Paris (1889, 1890 ), Chicago (1893 ), and Antwerp (1894). G. Klingert also supplied the so-called "Russian enamel" items to the firm of Karl Faberge.
In 1905 the factory was renamed as Klingert's " Factory of gold and silver-ware " and was located at Klingert's residence: until 1912 - in the Small Syromyatnicheskiy Lane, then - at the Elokhovskaya Square. Klingert was a prolific maker with pieces in major collections including the Kremlin Armory Museum and The State Historical Museum.
