Horst Antes (Heppenheim, 1936) is a German painter, printmaker and sculptor. From 1957 to 1959, Antes studied painting under HAP Grieshaber at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe in Karlsruhe.
Representations with a different and simplified body schedule continue to return to his work. In 1966, Antes designed metal plastics for the so-called Garten der sieben Denkmäler der Lüste in the botanical garden of the Bundesgartenschau 1967 in Karlsruhe.
Since 1967 he has been Professor of painting at the art academy of Karlsruhe. In 1968 he was the visiting professor at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin. Since 1983, Antes has been a member of the Freie Akademie der Künste in Hamburg.
Origin: the current owner has purchased the work from Gallery Lambert Tegenbosch.
