Taith Y Pererin (The Pilgrim's Progress), Y Rhyfel Ysprydol (The Holy War), and other works by John Bunyan translated into Welsh and published by The London Printing and Publishing Co. Includes the essays Bywyd ac Ysgrifeniadau (Life and Writings) by Josiah Conder and Rhagaraith (Introduction) by John Hughes, along with five shorter writings by Bunyan. Undated but known to be published mid-1800s. Full leather covers with decorative spine with gilt lettering. Many black and white plates and text illustrations. A substantial book, with 926 pp. measuring 19cm x 25cm and weighing 3.6kg.
This volume is in good condition for its age and is still a usable copy. The hard covers are intact though shelf worn. The endpapers are beginning to split but the the binding remains tight throughout the book. Internally the pages are generally moderately tanned with some lighter and others heavier. Similarly, foxing varies from mostly mild to occasionally fairly heavy. There is also water staining to some pages (see photographs). Despite this, the text and illustrations are perfectly legible.
