A Signed, Original, Vintage, 1972 Impressionist Oil Painting on board. I've always appreciated it, as looking through the trees in a wooded glen, with the sun setting in the background. But you may see something else.
It's signed on the front, but it's hard to make out, so it's unresearched. You can still make out 1972, but please do your own research.
A really nice piece. Nice earthy colours with some depth of paint & texture. A very atmospheric & characterful painting.
I believe that the paint would have been applied by a pallet knife, as the paint is very thickly applied.
In expected, but good used condition, for an item of this age & nature. In its original frame, which looks a little tatty, but I always prefer to keep paintings in their original frames. There are odd tiny marks & knocks. The light grey part of the frame does have some spots, which will probably clean up a little. I've just been enjoying it as it is, however, it would benefit from a clean.
Quite smallish in size, at Approx just under 16 1/4" x 14" to the outer most edges of the outer most frame.
