Ex Military Bedford MJ 4x4 7.5 ton Lorry.
This is the bog standard troop carrier complete with all the canvas and hoops. (No benches). It has the bullet proof 330 turbo engine 5-speed gearbox and has only done 45,000 miles.
It is currently sorned and registered as an Agricultural vehicle.
It has been started up and run occasionally and the cab has been covered over. The buck and chassis are in excellent condition. The cab has some rust. The engine gearbox and running gear all run as expected when we drove it down from up north but we have done no miles since. Loads of meat on the tyres. Cab interior all in good condition. Two obvious problems, the driver’s door lock doesn’t seem to work now, and the headlamps will need replacing.
The plan was to use this for a North Africa trip, travelling with absolute minimum under canvas before returning to a Spanish base for a comms box style fit out and then off to cooler climates. . Life has decided otherwise and plans revised. It has to go.
We have plenty of experience with the Bedford MJ and as a coachbuilder fitted out our first Bedford MJ camper conversion. I have to say it is the perfect base vehicle for an overlander, festival or live aboard truck for 2 people. Loads more pics available
