Preloved Launches Highly Anticipated Free Android App

After the hugely successful iOS App, Preloved.co.uk have released the highly anticipated Android app. This means that even more users will now have access to the UK's most trusted online marketplace, on the go. Preloved is the UK’s leading online marketplace for members to buy and sell second hand items in their local area - the site has a strong community focus, no hidden listing fees, and over two million active users every day.

Wing Chan, the Managing Director of Preloved said: “We’ve seen over 100,000 downloads of the iOS app in the first six months. After its success, we’re now extremely excited to bring the Preloved app to android.”

Both the iOS and Android apps have been carefully created by a talented team of in house developers meaning the user journey for the Preloved members has been at the forefront of the app development and design at all times. Preloved members can buy and sell faster and more effectively than ever before.

The apps allow sellers to create adverts effortlessly, and with access to Preloved's easy-to-use internal member messaging service, making a fast sale has never been easier. Out of the 800,000 adverts on Preloved, 11% of them were created using the iOS app. Most of these adverts are high quality due the users’ immediate access to their phone’s camera, and with 67% of consumers saying the quality of the product image is important to them, this ease in photo uploads will help improve seller success.

With an accurate in-app locator and handy bookmarks feature, the Preloved app ensures buyers never have to miss a must-have item for sale in the local area again. The apps also let users view Preloved’s Featured and Freeloved adverts; both of which are extremely popular with existing users. 

Over 40% of Preloved’s six million members have an android device. Providing these members with access the mobile-optimised version of the website is just another important step in the classified ads site’s exciting development journey into a new era of user experience.
