Advert Description
A large oil painting by F Wood oil on canvas, Approxiamately 36" wide x 27" high and a depth of 4" it is under glass so still retains a fresh look even though it is over 90 years old, the photograph seems to show that the painting is less clear on the left side than it is on the right when in fact it is light reflecting off the surface.
The painting is quiet Naive in some areas but captures a beautiful historical building flooded with light, and to the left of the scene are several men fishing, with 2 or 3 goats nearby.
The scene is of a general nature and although can not be described as a landscape, it covers a lot of ground if you know what I mean, it reflects a lot of greenery, the historic building, and an incidental study of a fallen tree which looks huried and naive.
The frame is in need of restoration but is solid apart from the plaster scroll decoration which should be easily copied as there is sufficient to use as a pattern.
drop me a line for any more details.
If you know where this is I would love to know as we have never been able to find out in the 30 years we have had this painting.
