Caloraidh is the only Bed and Breakfast in Uist which has been awarded a Gold Star by the national tourism authority, VisitScotland ? a high honour indeed, which we?ve earned for three consecutive years. This grading rates the service offered, which, we are proud to say, is well above par at Caloraidh! We try to treat all of our guests as we would like to be treated when staying away from home, so if there?s anything at all that you need, don?t hesitate to let us know. Robert and Mary Bell, who have run Caloraidh as a B&B since 2004, are both South Uist born and raised. Robert?s father brought the Bell name to Uist (via Barra, where he married and started his family) to South Uist in 1939 to take up the post of headmaster at Lochboisdale School. Robert was born two years later, the only one of his siblings not to be born in Barra.
