I'm looking for a female suitable to produce a high quality litter with a decent chance of success in producing more working Medical Alert Assistance Dogs.
My foundation male for this project is an extremely intelligent, fully task trained working AD who also doubles as my demo dog for training.
He is PRA and MDR1 clear, his hips and elbows were x-rayed and assessed to clear him for work some years ago (though not officially scored as yet) as good (hips) and normal (elbows). He is also clear by Embark for all relevant diseases.
He has a bombproof, confident, easy going temperament but with enough drive to learn at lightening speed and enough energy to work all day. He also has a superb offswitch.
He is 9 years old and stands a hair shy of 24" TTS.
What I am looking for in a suitable bitch to produce the hoped for litter -
* Stable, kind, confident temperament: absolutely no dog aggression, no weak nerve, sound or environmental sensitivity or fearfulness.
* Health: basic testing preferred, must be structurally sound and clear of gebetic disease.
* Working ability: must be intelligent, medium to high-ish drive, medium energy and possess a good off-switch.
* Obviously no merle given that he is. There will be other considerations in terms of genetics to cover with interested parties too.
I'm looking ideally for a collie or collie-heavy female. I will consider other breeds if temperament and health are exactly what I'm looking for as these really are the most essential factors. I will want to assess the female myself.
