Experienced, committed, confident and kind, TB rider wanted for horse share 2-4 days/week. Dewie is a fine, clever, sharp ex track TB gelding, 16 yo gorgeous affectionate horse. He is safe, doesn't bolt, bronc or rear. He can plant, stall or be nappy. He windsucks.
After years of training and stability he is happy, and safe.
He has mild arthritis and without work gets very tight glutes, sacroiliac issues and tight hamstrings.
I'm looking for someone willing to take him out hacking! he is a superb forward going horse who needs regular hacks and polework to maintain sanity, suppleness and condition.
He's barefoot, and safe as houses in traffic, hacks out brilliantly alone or in groups, either on exceptional farm land, or in the sand arena on site.
He ADORES hacking, pole work and dressage. No Lunging, but long lining and pessoa work is beneficial. He's extremely smart, a complete trier, and a team player. Can jump but you'd need to put the time in (some ancient trauma). Long floaty strides.
I am experiencing various long term chronic health issues which prevent me from being able to ride and look after him on my own.
This is not a 'return to riding' horse we need someone who understands TB's, (or Arabs) and is interested in natural horsemanship methods . You'll need over 10 years of riding experience. No one straight out of riding school, and you can love him like your own.
For consistency I'd prefer 2-4 days a week, (flexible /negotiation) and there are light yard duties (feeds, stable clean, poo picking).
He lives on a massive farm in the exceptional Plumpton Green : a huge, private, wonderful, supportive friendly livery with 1000's of acres of off-road riding. It's assisted livery, 15-25 minutes from Brighton, Hassocks, 10 mins from Lewes. DM me for exact location. Train station and bus nearby but own transport preferred.
£130pcm, and I will use a BHS sharer agreement. I look forward to meeting you. I'm happy to answer all questions.
