Victorian Travel Writing Slope Box in walnut circa 1850, this beautiful looking box has a very attractive walnut grain, good colour and patination. It has a vacant brass cartouche to the lid (which could be engraved) all in extremely good order, The box opens to reveal the original black leather writing surface which is in very good order for its age with minimal wear and no cracks on the fold line, with pen gulley/tray, pens original pair glass ink bottles with gold coloured screw tops, the two parts of the writing surface hinge open to reveal compartments to store documents.
On the condition there are some marks and scratches to the woodwork throughout, overall it's in really good condition, unfortunately it doesn't come with a key. This is a beautiful item, rare to find in such a good condition.
